KPPP registration: how to register on the Karnataka e-procurement portal
The Karnataka Public Procurement Portal (kppp.karnataka.gov.in) is where every state tender is published, bid and opened; it took over from eproc.karnataka.gov.in for new tenders. Supplier registration is the portal's version of a login: one profile per business, approved once, used on every bid. It takes about an hour with the documents ready.

1Have these ready
- The exact legal name (matching PAN and GST), the constitution (proprietorship, partnership, company), the registered address, the district.
- PAN of the business and the GSTIN.
- A mobile number and an email you will read for years: OTPs, tender alerts and opening notices go here. Use the owner's, not a staff member's.
- Bank account details for EMD refunds, with a cancelled cheque image, in the same name as the business.
- Scanned PDFs of PAN, the GST certificate, the PWD registration certificate, Udyam if any.
- A Class 3 Digital Signature Certificate, signing plus encryption, on its USB token with the driver installed.
2Open supplier registration and verify
On kppp.karnataka.gov.in choose supplier (bidder) registration, enter the mobile number and email, and verify both with the OTPs. Pick the applicant type (company, sole proprietor, partnership, foreign firm) and, if registering for the first time, the authorised signatory.
3Fill the business profile
Legal name, constitution, PAN, GSTIN, registered address, contact person. Type the name exactly as it appears on the PAN card; the portal validates the PAN format and an evaluator later compares the name to your certificates. Everything typed here is pulled into every bid's technical cover automatically, so getting it exactly right once saves a correction on every bid.
4Categories, districts, bank, documents
Pick the work categories you bid in and the districts; these drive the portal's own tender emails. Enter the bank account EMD refunds go to. Upload PAN, GST, the registration certificate and whatever else the form asks, each under the size limit the page states.
5Map the DSC
With the token plugged in and the portal's signing utility running, select your certificate, enter the token PIN and sign the registration. The portal records the certificate's serial number against your login; only that certificate can then sign your bids until you change it. The name on the DSC is checked against the profile.
6Submit, wait for approval, pay the enrolment fee
The portal reviews the registration; approvals commonly come within a working day, by email. Until then you can browse but not bid. The portal charges a small annual enrolment fee and a renewal; pay it online when prompted. It is not the tender fee, which is per tender, nor the EMD, which is per bid.
Things people get wrong
- Registering in a person's name when the PAN is the firm's, or the reverse. The name on the login is the name on the bid.
- A staff member's mobile number. When they leave, the OTPs leave with them.
- Letting the enrolment lapse. A lapsed enrolment blocks submission on the closing day, and the closing day is when you find out.
- Mapping a DSC in the wrong name. The certificate must be issued to a person authorised to sign for the business.
- Buying a signing-only DSC. The encryption certificate is what seals the financial cover; buy the combo.
KPPP and eproc
eproc.karnataka.gov.in (2007) is the older portal; KPPP (2023) is where new tenders are published. The two need separate registrations. The same Class 3 DSC can be mapped on both, and on GeM and the central portal, as long as it is valid.

Is KPPP registration free?
Registering is free; the portal charges a small annual enrolment fee and renewals, paid online. Tender fees and EMD are separate and per tender.
How long does KPPP registration approval take?
Commonly within one working day once the form is complete and the DSC is mapped. The approval arrives by email.
Which DSC does KPPP need?
A Class 3 Digital Signature Certificate, signing plus encryption, on a USB token, issued to a person authorised to sign for the business. It costs a few thousand rupees for one to three years.
Can one business have two KPPP logins?
One registration per PAN is the rule. Multiple users signing for the same business need the business's authorisation and their own DSCs; the portal helpdesk has the current procedure.
