Registering as a supplier on KPPP

How to register your business on the Karnataka Public Procurement Portal: what to have ready, the form section by section, the DSC step, approval, the enrolment fee, and the profile fields that later flow into every bid.

Supplier registration is the portal's version of a login: one profile for your business, approved once, used on every tender. It takes an hour if you have the documents and the DSCDSC (Digital Signature Certificate)A USB token that signs your online bid the way a pen signs paper. KPPP needs a Class 3 DSC in the name of the person authorised to bid.Read in the glossary →, and it is free to start.

Have these ready

  • Business details: the exact legal name (matching PAN and GST), constitution (proprietorship, partnership, company), address, the state and district.
  • PAN of the business and GSTIN.
  • A mobile number and an email that you will read for years. The portal sends OTPs, tender alerts and opening notices here.
  • Bank account details for EMD refunds: account number, IFSC, and a cancelled cheque image.
  • Scanned documents: PAN, GST certificate, PWD registration, Udyam if any, as clear PDFs.
  • The DSC token, plugged in, with its driver installed. You can register without it and map it afterwards, but nothing can be submitted until it is mapped.
  1. Open supplier registration
    On kppp.karnataka.gov.in choose the supplier (bidder) registration option. Enter the mobile number and email and verify both with the OTPs.
  2. Business profile
    Legal name, constitution, PAN, GSTIN, registered address, contact person. Type the name exactly as it appears on the PAN card; the portal validates PAN format, and a bid evaluator later compares it to your certificates.
  3. Categories and locations
    Pick the work categories you bid in (civil works, roads, buildings, water supply and so on) and the districts. These drive the portal's own tender emails, which are broad; BiddingView's alerts are finer, but set them here too.
  4. Bank details
    The account EMD refunds go to. Same name as the business.
  5. Upload documents
    PAN, GST, registration certificate, any others the form asks for. Keep each under the size limit the page states.
  6. Map the DSC
    With the token plugged in and the signing utility running, select your certificate and sign the registration. The portal records the certificate's serial number against your login; only that certificate can then sign your bids until you change it.
  7. Submit and wait for approval
    The portal reviews the registration; approvals commonly come within a working day. You get an email. Until then you can browse but not bid.
  8. Pay the enrolment fee
    The portal charges a small annual enrolment fee (a few hundred rupees) and a renewal; pay it online when prompted. It is not the tender fee, which is per tender.

Things people get wrong

  • Registering in a person's name when the PAN is the firm's, or the reverse. The name on the login is the name on the bid.
  • A staff member's mobile number. When they leave, the OTPs leave with them. Use the owner's.
  • Letting the enrolment lapse. A lapsed enrolment blocks submission on the closing day, and the closing day is when you find out.
  • Mapping a DSC in the wrong name. The certificate must be issued to a person authorised to sign for the business, and the portal checks the name.

Commonly within one working day once the form is complete and the DSC is mapped. The approval arrives by email.
Is KPPP registration free?
Registering is free; the portal charges a small annual enrolment fee, and renewals, which you pay online. Tender fees and EMD are separate and per tender.
Can one business have two KPPP logins?
One registration per PAN is the rule. Multiple users signing for the same business need the business's authorisation and their own DSCs; ask the portal helpdesk for the current procedure.
